Vaadin, GWT, and Client-Server Hybrid Apps

This talk discusses Vaadin and Google Web Toolkit, but it's primary focus is hybrid applications. A relatively new approach to building web applications, hybrid apps combine elements of client-side and server-side development. The benefits of both styles of development are compared, equip with several use-cases and examples, before the advantages of this new hybrid approach is proposed.

Joonas Lehtinen, CEO and Founder of Vaadin, visits SF Java to showcase the framework. He explains why Vaadin is an ideal tool for Java developers looking to build HTML5 applications that look great and also perform well.
