Unicode Loves JavaScript

Unicode is a database that links any symbol you can think of with a unique number (and canonical name) for that symbol. What does this mean for you as a developer? Well, as Opera developer relations team member Mathias Bynens points out, maybe more than you might think. Especially if you've ever needed to write a string in JavaScript that came from user input, or a 3rd party API, that you do not directly control.

In this SFHTML5 presentation, Mathias explains the basics of Unicode, the various ways JavaScript relies on Unicode, and why this matters to JavaScript developers.
