NetBeans Platform Certified Class on Oct 10 in San Francisco, CA

On October 10th, Marakana, in partnership with Eppleton, is holding a NetBeans Platform Certified Training. During the course, you will learn how to use the NetBeans Platform to create modular Swing applications. The NetBeans Platform is the basis of many desktop applications in the defense, banking, geospatial, software, and healthcare domains. It provides an infrastructure and coding patterns, so that you can focus on your domain expertise.

In addition to Anton Epple, who is teaching this class, there will be other NetBeans Platform experts present during this course - since many of them will be in town because of JavaOne.

Geertjan Wielenga

One of those additional NetBeans Platform gurus is Geertjan Wielenga, who is a NetBeans Platform trainer and writer working in the NetBeans Team, based in Prague, Czech Republic. Aside from writing tutorials, books, and other documents about the NetBeans Platform, he organizes, creates, and helps to deliver the related training materials.

Anton has more than 10 years experience leading Java projects and has published many articles on the topic. He is a consultant worldwide for a wide variety of companies, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, in many areas, including finance institutions and aerospace. In his spare time, Anton is community leader for the JavaTools Community at and a member of the NetBeans Dream Team and Governance Board.

[top] How is this training usually structured?

Typically we divide the training days into four sessions. Two sessions before lunch, and two sessions after lunch. Between any two sessions, we take a break. Short 15-minute breaks in the morning and the afternoon, and usually an hour-long lunch-break.

The last hour is usually reserved for questions and answers.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes early on the first day of the class and 15 minutes early for the remainder of the training.
